Subhiksha Jayakumar, a Master’s student in the Faculty of Agriculture under the supervision of Dr. Gurpreet Singh Selopal, recently secured first place in the poster competition at the Atlantic BIOCON Conference 2025 held in Saint John, New Brunswick.
Subhiksha is conducting innovative research focused on sustainable agricultural technologies. She is working on the design and optimization of novel organic template assisted nano-fertilizers to enhance potato production in Atlantic Canada and beyond. This is a five-year research project funded by the Agriculture, Aquaculture & Fisheries, Government of New Brunswick in collaboration with Sustainable Canadian Agricultural Partnership, Canada.Â
The conference provided a valuable platform to engage in discussions around bio-circular economy, Agri-tech innovation, and climate-resilient farming practices. This recognition highlights both the novelty and impact of her work in advancing sustainable agriculture solutions to meet the food demands.
