Associate Professor Laura Eramian's research on friendlessness, conducted with of St Francis Xavier University, made the news recently. Dr Eramian was interviewed on and CBC Radio's . The media attention focused on the findings in their  published in the Canadian Review of Sociology with alum Morgan Herbert (BA Hons and MA in Social Anthropology) on friendlessness and loneliness. The article explores how people make sense of having few or no friends, with experiences ranging from loneliness and isolation to celebration of autonomy and self-reliance.Â
