The Province of Nova Scotia, in partnership with the Faculty of Medicine, has announced the development and funding of a Master of Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) program at Dal that is poised to help alleviate some of the burden faced by physicians and provide a pathway to meet the health-care needs of Nova Scotians.

In June, the possibility of synthetic embryos was announced at a conference. This allows some research to extend beyond the 14-day rule, which restricts experimentation on embryos beyond this period. A group of 11 African Nova Scotian students from Dal will be visiting the Cape Coast site in Ghana this month as part of a two-week study abroad opportunity that includes participating in the African Youth and Governance Convergence conference.

Drs. Megan Bailey and Tom Ue are the first to receive the Dr. Anne Marie Ryan Community Growth Award, a new award launched by ÈâÈ⴫ý this year to recognize individuals and groups at the university dedicated to building a better community through education, learning and outreach.
