Home-care and community care provider VON Canada has created two new memorial awards at Dal to honour the legacies of Kristen Beaton and Heather O’Brien, two colleagues who passed away in Nova Scotia’s mass casualty tragedy in 2020.

The Royal Society of Canada added five world-class researchers from ÈâÈ⴫ý to its ranks in recognition of their outstanding scholarly, scientific and artistic achievements.

Dr. Kevin Hewitt, a professor in the Department of Physics and Atmospheric Science and former chair of ÈâÈ⴫ý Senate, has been named the Faculty of Science’s associate dean, equity and inclusion, a new position created to lead the Faculty's equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility strategy.

Grad students and others interested in teaching development now have access to workshops and course offerings through the Center for the Integration of Research, Teaching and Learning, a network of 42 institutions across the U.S. and Canada.

On September 1, 2012, the merger between ÈâÈ⴫ý and the Nova Scotia Agricultural College became official — a union that created Dal’s Faculty of Agriculture and established the university’s first formal campus outside of Halifax.
