In this learner spotlight, we feature Eun Hee Bang. She graduated in June with a Professional Diploma in Management and Leadership Studies.Â
ÈâÈ⴫ý’s reputation in continuing education
For Eun Hee Bang, ÈâÈ⴫ý’s strong reputation inspired her to come to Halifax to pursue her professional development goals. She was especially drawn to the because of its structured curriculum and supportive learning environment.
Originally from South Korea, Eun Hee embraced every opportunity to learn—academically, professionally, and culturally. After joining the program, she connected with classmates who were navigating similar challenges, creating a collaborative learning environment that enriched classroom discussions and strengthened her overall experience.
Through coursework that incorporated real-world scenarios, she developed a strong understanding of Canadian workplace expectations and professional standards. The program’s instructors also played a key role, sharing their expertise through a supportive, practical teaching approach. Reflecting on one particularly meaningful experience, she said, “I felt inspired when an instructor took extra time to guide me through a challenging assignment. Their encouragement helped me believe in my abilities.â€

From the classroom to the office
After successfully completing the required coursework, Eun Hee moved on to a four-month work term. This gave her the opportunity to apply what she had learned in the classroom while gaining valuable firsthand experience in a Canadian workplace. For her, it was a pivotal step in building confidence in her professional abilities and feeling prepared to work and grow in Canada.
Today, Eun Hee works as an Educational Program Assistant at the Halifax Regional Centre for Education where she continues to build on the skills and experience gained through the program. “My work environment is supportive and professional. I enjoy the teamwork and the clear communication culture. There are strong opportunities for growth, especially in administrative and HR roles.â€
Reflecting on her experience in the Canadian workplace, Eun Hee believes that professional communication, teamwork, problem-solving, and attention to detail are essential skills for success. She credits the program with helping her launch her career in Canada, saying, “It opened the door to my first Canadian job and gave me the confidence to pursue roles that match my skills and experience.â€
An enriching multicultural experience
Like many of her classmates, Eun Hee appreciates Halifax’s multicultural environment and welcoming atmosphere. Learning alongside people from diverse backgrounds broadened her perspective and led to meaningful discussions—experiences she believes are invaluable in today’s collaborative workplaces.
When speaking about Halifax and how she and her family have adapted, she says, “I’ve enjoyed the friendly community, the peaceful environment, and the balance between city life and nature. Halifax is welcoming, safe, and community-oriented, which made the transition much easier for all of us.â€Â

Preparing for success
In June, Eun Hee and her classmates celebrated their achievements during a special graduation ceremony.
Reflecting on her journey, Eun Hee offers this advice to future learners: “Be open, ask questions, and take advantage of every resource. The program is designed to support your success, both academically and professionally.â€
She also emphasizes the importance of time management, communication, adaptability, and a willingness to learn new systems as essential skills for success in the program.
