Theatre (Acting) offers intensive training in acting, movement, voice, text analysis, and performance. You'll spend significant time in studios and rehearsal spaces, developing your craft through hands-on learning and collaboration.
Throughout the program, you'll perform in productions, work alongside faculty and guest artists, and learn the professional practices of theatre-making. At the same time, your Bachelor of Arts allows you to broaden your education with courses in other disciplines.

Dal Arts students can apply for the FASS Work-Integrated Learning (WIL) Pilot Program, which offers a one-semester paid work term where you put what you learn in the classroom into practice, build career-ready skills and gain experience in the workplace.

Arts students can take their learning beyond the classroom through the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences’ experiential learning program.

Alongside intensive acting training, you’ll complete Bachelor of Arts electives that let you explore interests beyond theatre. Choose courses in areas such as English, History, Music, Contemporary Studies, or another area of Arts and Science.

Admission requirements
Minimum admission requirements
To be considered for admission to this program, you must meet minimum academic criteria:
- Completion of secondary school (Grade 12)
- Achievement of the minimum average for your program of choice.
- Completion of Grade 12 English (or equivalent course).
Admission to many ÈâÈ⴫ý programs is competitive. This means that meeting minimum requirements does not guarantee admission.

- Minimum overall average: 70%
- Academic English 12
- Four additional academic subjects
Successful audition is required for admission
- Applicants may be asked to prepare monologues and participate in additional audition activities as outlined by the School of Performing Arts.
