Veronica Marsman (BA’79, BSW’83, MSW’93), a 2026 Dal alumni Aurum Award recipient, is a community leader dedicated to advancing opportunity for African Nova Scotians and Black communities across the province. As Executive Director of Akoma Holdings Ltd., she is helping shape the future of the largest parcel of Black-owned land in Nova Scotia.

Dr. Meng Hee Tan (BSc’65, MD’69), a 2026 Dal alumni Aurum Award recipient, is a physician-scientist and global leader in diabetes care. For more than five decades, he has advanced treatment, education and clinical standards, improving quality of life for people living with diabetes worldwide.

Faten Alshazly (BSc’99), a 2026 Dal alumni Aurum Award recipient, is an entrepreneur and advocate for women’s leadership. As CEO of HealthEMe and Co-Founder and Chief Creative Officer of WeUsThem, she is using technology, creativity and mentorship to expand access to health care and empower the next generation of women leaders.

Clint Davis (LLB’95), a 2026 Dal alumni Aurum Award recipient, is a visionary Indigenous business leader dedicated to expanding Indigenous economic participation and self-determination. As CEO of Cedar Leaf Capital, Canada’s first majority Indigenous-owned investment dealer, he is creating pathways for Indigenous businesses and communities to access capital, build capacity and strengthen long-term economic growth.
